CaribWorldNews, MIAMI, FL, Thurs. May 28, 2009: A national of the Dominican Republic accused of killing her husband in the Dominican Republic a year ago was last week nabbed at her Orlando-area home on administrative immigration charges.
Wendy Maria Polanco Gonzalez, 37, was arrested on charges for overstaying her visa and for falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen. But it was later realized that INTERPOL had issued a red notice for her arrest for allegedly killing her husband.
Gonzalez, a Dominican national, entered the United States via New York on Feb. 8, 2008, the same day that she allegedly shot her common law husband at their home in the Dominican Republic.
Gonzalez entered the United States on a B2 non-immigrant tourist visa. She eventually traveled to Florida where she obtained a Florida driver’s license and state identification card by presenting a fraudulently obtained Social Security number and a Puerto Rican birth certificate.
Gonzalez is currently in detention, pending removal proceedings to the Dominican Republic.
