Gay Caribbean Queen To Be Crowned In NYC

CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Thurs. Sept. 9 ,2010: Seven contestants who include gay males and transsexuals will battle for the Gay Caribbean USA Pageant crown later this month. The contest is set for Saturday September 25th from 8 p.m. at Saunders Studios, 525 Waverly Avenue in Brooklyn.The contestants have been hard at work in preparation to snatch the crown from Mimi Mancini of Jamaica who won last year. This year`s contestants are Ven Detta St. Mykael of Barbados, Sassy Sylvia representing St. Kitts, Victoria of Guyana, Kelis representing the Dominican Republic, St. Lucia`s Lady Blu, Liyana Grey of Jamaica and Jennifer Banks representing Trinidad and Tobago.The pageant was developed as a vehicle to help foster tolerance of the gay lifestyle among members of the Caribbean American community. The pageant scored a major plus this year by landing cooperate support, mainly from businesses with Caribbean roots.
