Nelson was reportedly at a medical facility in Florida yesterday, two days after being hospitalized with extreme abdominal pains. Reports indicate he underwent sugery yesterday.
A stomach problem has been reportedly detected and further tests are set to be carried out in the Sunshine state, home to thousands of Jamaicans.
Prime Minister Bruce Golding has assumed responsibility for the national security ministry in Nelson`s absence.
