Jamaica Swine Flu Rate Passes 80 Mark

CaribWorldNews, KINGSTON, Jamaica, Tues. Sept. 1, 2009: Jamaica`s swine flu rate is now at 81, according to latest statistics from the island`s Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health said Monday the number climbed after officials confirmed an additional case Friday. Authorities are urging continued vigilance for Influenza A(H1N1) despite a reduction in flu like illnesses

Other persons in the high risk group for complications from Influenza A(H1N1) include those with chronic illnesses such as obesity, asthma, diabetes and hypertension and children under five years old.
