CaribWorldNews, MIAMI, FL, Weds. Aug. 5, 2009: Jamaica`s colors will come alight this Friday when the Bank of America tower in downtown Miami lights up at dusk in black, green and gold, according to South Florida Caribbean news.
The lighting of the Bank`s Tower`s is in commemoration of Jamaica`s 44th anniversary of independence. The 47-floor Miami landmark, will remain lit throughout the weekend until midnight on Sunday, Aug. 9th as a tribute to the Jamaican Diaspora here in South Florida in celebration of the nation`s Independence.
According to Jamaica`s Consul General, Sandra Grant Griffiths, `to see the Jamaican colors against the Miami skyline, will be a visible symbol of the spirit and creativity of the Jamaica community.`
Jamaica`s official independence is August 6th.
