Jamaican Migrant To Stay Jailed For Now

CaribWorldNews, CALGARY, Canada, Fri. June 12, 2009: A 25-year-old Jamaican was ordered to stay in jail until he is deported this week by the Immigration and Refugee Board.

Leaford Lewin is set to be deported back to the homeland he left behind at age four after serving jail time in Canada for sexual assault with a gun.

The Board said Lewin is a risk and cannot be released back in society but should cool his heels in jail for now until he is ready to be deported.

Lewin is considered a flight risk and he could `easily go underground here in Canada,` a report completed on the migrant said.
