NY Comptroller To Honor Six Caribbean Nationals

CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. May 29, 2009: Six Caribbean New Yorkers are set to be honored next week by New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson.

Thompson will honor the six at his Caribbean Heritage and Culture event, which is held annually and is co-sponsored by the Caribbean American Center of New York, the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Caribbean Women’s Health Association and the West Indian Day Carnival Association.

The June 2nd ceremony will honor Guyanese Rosalind McLymont, editor-in-chief, The Network Journal; Anthony King, regional director, tour operators and airlines, Jamaica Tourist Board; Reverend Dr. Grace Cornish Livingstone, author, talk show host, and psychologist; Dr. Jean M. Chin, Mt. Sinai Medical Center; Sgt. Herve Guiteau, former President of the Haitian American Law Enforcement Fraternal Organization, Inc.; and, Dennis Derryck, Professor of Professional Practice at Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy.

The event is set for 5:30 p.m. at SEIU Local 32BJ, 101 Avenue of the Americas in New York City.

CWNN publisher, Felicia Persaud, was honored by Thompson in 2007.
