October 26, 2009

CaribWorldNews, SAN JUAN, Mon. Oct. 26, 2009: A fire that raged for two days at an oil storage depot outside San Juan, Puerto Rico is finally out.

Firefighters in Puerto Rico said they were finally able to extinguish the blaze late Saturday. The fire began early Friday morning following an explosion at the Caribbean Petroleum Corporation`s Bayamon facility. It  forced the evacuation of more than 1,000 local residents and raised fears of a public health risk and pollution damage.

No deaths were reported but at least two people were hurt. Reports now indicate that the FBI suspect arson and agents are on the hunt for the perpetrators, who have scrawled graffiti about it in a San Juan tunnel.
