Rihanna Makes First Public Appearance Since Brown Saga

CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Tues. May 5, 2009: Grammy-winning Barbadian star Rihanna, last night made her first public appearance since the February assault drama that erupted between her and Chris Brown.

The sexy star, fresh from a Barbados vacation, hit the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala’s `The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion` event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday.

Access Hollywood reports say the 21-year-old showed up in a sexy, silk tuxedo, her hair peppered with blonde highlights and slicked to one side.

Rihanna also posed for photographers. The ensemble featured cropped pants, billowing shoulders and a bow tie. She joined other stars at the Met opening, including Madonna, Gisele Bundchen, Eva Longoria and husband Tony Parker, Justin Timberlake and Victoria Beckham.

Rihanna has avoided public events since she was allegedly assaulted by Brown following a Feb. 7th pre-Grammy party. Brown has denied he assaulted Rihanna but is set for a May hearing later this month in a LA court.

Rihanna recently returned from a second trip to her homeland, where she was spotted with ex-boyfriend, Neagus Sealy. The two dated before the singer became famous.
